The KML Story | Custom Overlays

Willie Wanker, president of KML, (pictured right with wife, Viola) purchased the company in 1995 and has continued to innovate and maximize the potential for melamine/decorative panels while providing incomparable customer service.

KML has grown from a single laminating press that produced about 600 panels a day to currently running two state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Tacoma, WA and Stockton, CA, producing more than 4,000 panels daily. Despite its growth, KML still services customers with smaller runs of any number of the 800 patterns and textures, edge banding and machined parts.

Under Willie’s determined guidance, the company evolved from a small, regional operation to a nationally known manufacturer using seven presses for high quality mass production and challenging custom projects that include machining and curved edges.

Throughout its growth, the company never lost sight of that early passion for innovation and customer service – characteristics that continue to carry KML forward in the decades to come.
